Calling it an energy sword assumes that : it's 'ammunition' (for lack of a better term) is energy, when in fact the : sword is made of super-heated plasma wrapped in a shaped EM field. The : weapon name is misleading. I don't think it's any more misleading than lightsaber, in fact I think there's less potential to be mislead. : The Visual Guide refers to the ammo as superheated plasma or charged plasma : for the plasma rifle and plasma pistol, in either case, not energy. Plasma : bolts would be projectile because the ammo is physical matter, not energy. Well, that's true enough, but it seems to me kind of like saying the ammunition of the UNSC weapons is lead-- it's leaving out something very important; for plasma weapons, it would be the power source and/or plasma generation method, for firearms it would be the gunpowder.
