In Response To: Re: Reach will have a great legacy. (uberfoop) : Is this because you're actually accomplishing some as compared to some other : areas, though, or is it because the execution and internal pacing of those : two levels is simply better than in the rest of Reach? I mean, heck, the : guys you "save" in Exodus very well might die anyway, and NA has : no actual concrete goal to it. Maybe (actually unless they were immortal somehow they definitely would), but the game doesn't turn around and show you it was for nothing, and New Alexandria has several concrete goals, they're just randomized, and going from one to the other can seem tedious or a number of other things but it reinforces the fact that you finished your previous task. : I'm going to go ahead and assume that you consider TotS/LNoS to have been
From the standpoint of accomplishment (especially when the level is finished), yes-- that's all I was talking about. : Here's the thing about them: in terms of end result, what separates them
I wasn't thinking about it in terms of acts and I don't know if that had any influence, but you could say the second act ended with New Alexandria, and at that point you do get a full proper "we're screwed" feeling even more than the end of ToTS or LNoS.
