No speculatable mystery or anything interesting, : really. And when stuck next to Halo 1, it throws off Halo 1's approach by : jumping the gun on everything . : It's context, but I'm not sure how exactly it's "awesome." Not all : added interlocking facts and details are inherintly good for a ficticious : universe. Unknowns can be used for storytelling, and sometimes what isn't : told is as important and what is. Thanks, I see where you're coming from. Personally, I think the idea of Halsey having a certain (undisclosed, mind you) understanding of the Forerunners and their importance creates a much-needed bridge between the straight-up aliens vs humans stories taking place prior to 2552 and the Halo trilogy proper...but I agree that there is value in leaving HCE unsullied as well.
