In Response To: Reach will have a great legacy. (Leviathan) I don't think people that don't like it are just going to start liking it unless they didn't really give it chance in the first place and by my understanding nostalgia is inherently a bias, so it won't make any judgments more fair. This isn't like Halo 2 and 3 where the hype or the prospect of perfected gameplay or a satisfying end to the story make people see it worse at first, I think that people went in with more realistic expectations. People also had time to build up views about things in the Haloverse and may have already disliked things or ideas before they encountered them in Reach, rather than discovering them and having to form opinions, so they may be less likely to change their minds. Whether the general opinion of Reach will get more positive is anyone's guess, and ultimately doesn't matter that much, as it doesn't affect the game or the opinions of people who have their minds concluded. In the mean time, I like Reach, so let's have fun. HBO: We talk about Halo. Sometimes we even play it. | |
