In Response To: Totally Hypothetical Bungie Panel (PAX) (urk)
: I'm not necessarily looking for explicit questions (though, they're welcome).
: Broad topics are more than welcome. Go.
Explicit:
* Does Marty intend to have another rock anthem for saving [insert person/place/thing here]?
* Does the new studio really have the leg room for the company's growth for the next decade?
* Which lands me at my next question, do you think (not promise) the community will get a video tour of the new studio before the expiration date of the Mayan calender?
* While Bungie is composed of a great deal of AAA talent, are there many "alternates" for specific disciplines? In case the a head-honcho is taken ill or kidnapped for information on the giant slingshot? i.e., are there backup people in place to make sure all your eggs aren't in one basket?
* Is the studio equipped to withstand a nasty winter? Nuclear winter?
* Have the Morale&Welfare ladies and gents tried to negotiate getting a copy of popular films (that are still only currently in theaters) for playing in the first floor (the only real declassified area) theater? I figure during crunches it would be a treat, especially if some of the family can swing by and join in.
* Has Marty thought of doing music for an Aerospace project, if given the chance and time?
Broad(er):
* Besides employees all owning a part of the company, what kind of creative input do they get besides what they put into the games? i.e., does a concept artist have the ability to poke Staten and say "I got this idea for part X of the story..."? I figure if someone tried to poke Marty and/or provide a music idea, his mullet would make a return and eat them alive.
* Since an engineer would be attending this hypothetical panel: does Bungie find itself licensing more and more technology these days, instead of building systems from the ground up? I remember from a GDC presentation or two that it was mentioned that Bunige would have licensed existing technology in place of an existing tech (eg, the tag system), had such a system existed and also met the needs of the company.
* Has Aerospace "lifted off" in a way it was predicted after the official announcement?
