| History of Halo story telling | |

In Response To: Totally Hypothetical Bungie Panel (PAX) (urk) What has the history of Halo story telling been like? How did the origins of this ringworld come into existence and when was some of the back story and canon created to further flesh out Halo's universe? Was there ever any plans to continue the franchise past Combat Evolved before it became the hit it is today? Is there such thing as a Halo bible and does every story within the universe have to fit such a thing or do some of these story telling elements spring into existence for the sake of the story (was there ever plans for an ODST drop above New Mombasa in the canon before Halo 3: ODST, or was that created just for the game)? Finally, how does the Bungie team perceive Halo canon and other games' canon? Is it an entity that can change and grow into something it wasn't completely built for or is it just completely set in stone and unchanging? How much liberty does Bungie take with morphing the canon to fit their desires?
