"Those crazy helljumpers" sounds a little clichι. "The helljumpers" would sound much better, IMO. Sgt. Johnson: "Hell, I'll roll with you myself! See the universe, shoot aliens! It's what I signed up for. Bisenti, get these swabbies loaded up and be careful not to offend their delicate sensibilities."
This is pure gold. - If forgoing the use of a Warthog, the player may now take advantage of the vehicle hijacking mechanic, as patrols of Covenant Ghosts and Banshees will now roam the interconnected valleys. I would hope the banshee hijacking was disabled. There's no need for a Banshee on this level. It's not built for it. - "These replacements have a chance of being the M12G1 variant with a Gauss Cannon turret in place of the Light Anti-Aircraft Gun. " Why so soon? This level would effectively be a new player's first encounter with the Warthog. I think giving them multiple turret options might be a little premature. The Gauss Hog (or, my personal preference, the Rocket Hog from Halo PC) would be better saved until The Silent Cartographer, perhaps as the flipped warthog on the beach. The same goes for the FRG grunts fighting Johnson in the hog. As I recall, you don't see FRG-toting SpecOps grunts until a number of missions into the game. Throwing them in the second level (first vehicle level) would really be too soon. There's a reason that they aren't in the game right away. You have to gradually build up the difficulty level (and the fun level, with the special hogs). And the same also goes for the ODSTs. If you're going to throw them into the campaign, wait. There's no reason to throw everything in the first level or two all at once. (On a side note, I don't really like the addition of Locklear here. There's no need. I like trying to bridge the gap between the game canon and the books, but... really, he doesn't need to be here.) Sgt. Johnson (COM): "I'm clear, Chief. They're closing in on you, but if you can drive these ugly mike foxtrots back into the open, I'll light 'em up with the turret!" This too bugs me. I can't see Sgt. Johnson saying Mike Foxtrots. No. Just no. All-in-all, I like what I see. Just a few little things that kinda irk me. I feel like this second transcript is definitely better than the first one for the PoA though. Nice job. :)
