If you use the measure tool that comes along with Google Earth you can verify for yourself that the model is indeed 3 miles wide, and i simply placed it where Geoff had identified as a likely formation, you can turn the model on and off to compare the location.

Also the nifty thing with Sketchup is that you can download the model yourself and place it anywhere you think it would likely fit.

I will continue to improve the model as I have time to play with it.
