In Response To: Re: Halo 3: My Musings on my Blog (deadmonkey)
i reckon that in halo 3 there should be more interaction with the natural environments of the rings. Has anyone else seen the video of Halo: The Untold Story? it came on a bonus demos disk with the xbox. it shows how the game was looking in developement. the marines were cruising in a warthog and hit a wierd two legged animal, then they cruised past these big dinosaur looking things, it looked really good.
The next halo is bound to have another ring, there were seven, after all. i think that the next installment in the halo saga should include more nature stuff, since it would be really cool to discover a whole new realm of flora and fauna, and would add so much more of a genuine feel to the rings.
Could you imagine, you're fighting off the covenant with one hand, they are pouring out of an opening of an incredibly well-rendered hillside, you peg a plasma grenade into their midst and turn to run, just to see a stampede of the local livestock or wild animal charging you down. you lob a round into them as you race for higher ground, then sit back and pick off any covenant scum that manage to escape the horde of wild mammals. perhaps a hunting ground could come in handy? you are creeping through a lush, thick jungle, scanning the trees around you for any shiny glint of the metal of a gun, your ears prick up at the sound of something behind you, brought to you in stunning 5.1 surround dolby digital, you spin in time to catch a panther-like predator that has been hunting you down for the last ten minutes, you melee attack him and get a pistol bullet into his head, and he screams as he hits a nearby tree and slides down with impeccable ragdoll physics.
don't you think this would be a wicked additive to the already amazing atmosphere? oh, by the way, halo 2 sucked, no offense. i sold mine, i only ever play halo 1 AND IT KICKS ALL ASSES TO THE NEXT MILLENIUM!!!!
