For one thing, Lightning has no real mass to speak of. It's pure electricity, I know that's made of electrons, but it's really quite negligible. Also, I wasn't talking about projectile avoidance when I mentioned that distance in space doesn't matter. The post that that was in reply to made it sound like the round wouldn't get there period if it wasn't shot super fast. Speed is very critical in accuracy. Lastly, a round shot at the speed of light from the Earth's surface would actually take about 1.5 seconds to reach the moon.
