They were probably building more MAC's but as Reach already had what the UNSC thought would be enough, the rest were being deployed in the Sol system. And the Gauss Cannon/Railgun/Small MAC on the new Warthog wouldnt need to be that powerfull. It looked to be between 50mm - 70mm projectile. It would only need to fire the thing at speeds of 1000m/s for it to be effective as a vehicle mounted weapon. The MAC's used in space have to fire atleast 30-100 times faster just because of the distances involved. | |
