: Distance in space means nothing. There's no friction to slow the shell down.
distances do matter because if you're firing at a taget near the moon at the speed of light, it takes 1 second to reach the target, it takes 4 seconds for a supermac gone to reach the moon because it moves at 1/4 the speed of light. it isn't accerating at the speed of light, its velocity maxes out at .4(3E8) no friction doesn't really mean anything, if something that small is moving that fast in an atmosphere, it'll just disintigrate. | |
