In Response To: Why that doesn't make sense (Marcus) True, but in stellar distances, the asteroid belt is a stone's throw from Earth. Plus, Mars is supposed to have a huge shipyard. And the belt is in Mars' backyard. So, even if there was some transit time from the belt to the battle around Earth, they could still make a difference in the battle. Plus, the Super-MACs theoretically have the range to hit the Covenant fleet around Earth. So my crossfire idea hasn't been disproven yet. Yet.
