This is entirely too cluttered and I think you missed the point earlier about columns and such. I tinkered with it in Paint (for ~30 seconds) and got this: http://i.imgur.com/36otA.png And honestly that looks so much better to me. There are some things that having a big monitor is useful for, but I really dislike it when websites have stuff all over it. It's just too much info at once. White space keeps you organized and focused. One thing I'm noticing now is that your borders for all the boxes are really grabbing my attention, when it should be the content inside the boxes I should be focusing on. This is more true for the side and the bottom than the news posts. I think thinner borders with duller colors would help put all eyes on the text and links where it belongs.
