Idea 1: Organization

This thread is for ideas on what seems to be the only thing Hamish was really requesting, a redesign of the index page. The precise style and presentation can be worked out later, but I think the organizational structure merits discussion.
The way I see it, the main sections needed for a comprehensive fan site for a game like Marathon are:
- Story references and analysis
- Walkthroughs, spoilers, strategy guides, etc
- An encyclopedia for information about the game and its community (in-universe and out)
- A file archive
- A discussion forum
As it turns out, we have all these things already, and they are the biggest sections of mar.b.org: MSP, MSG, Traxus, ABO, and MSF.
So I propose that those be the top-level, "core" links in the new index design, listed across the top of the page, below the header and above the news (which will constitute the bulk of the remainder of the page).
After Hamish's comment about links and some more thought of my own, I think that both What Is Marathon and Get Marathon should be incorporated into sections of a sidebar on the main page (perhaps with a link to the sourceforge site at the bottom), with links to other live community pages and hosted individual projects as sections in another sidebar (with Page2401 as "more links").
The next two ideas mostly involve around integrating the five core sections more tightly with each other and the main index page, but this organizational/navigational idea can stand on their own without them.
