Infinity has always been the favorite of the Trilogy. I think to put it best, it is the most adult of the three. When I first played the trilogy, the stories from the other 2 were good. I could think about them on my own, and come to conclusions of my own. Infinity I didn't understand. I think about it more, that was 5 years ago, and I was just 15. I don't think I could have understood it. Instead, I just thought it was the best one, because I knew that it would take time for me to understand. Plus, I think the level design in Marathon Infinity is the best. What kind of FPS uses its most powerful creatures in the begining of the game? One that knows the limitations of the game, and make it kick ass! I love every level in Infinity, on the other hand, I think there are levels in Marathon 2 and Marathon that I thought were rather tedious and boring. Now that I am starting to understand the Plot to Marathon Infinity, it justs makes the game that much better. :)
