Actually, Aleph One is very stable now, as far as I know. I know that the Windows version is rather behind the Mac version, as when playing M1A1 SDL on Krpy's PC, there weren't high-res textures, and it didn't appear to be an option. But one cool think about Aleph One SDL is that the menus like "Are you sure you want to quit this game in progress?" and stuff have been changed to very cool looking, Marathon-ish windows. but yes, Aleph One is quite a stable application, and for almost everyone, I think it's a more than suitable replacement for Infinity. Say, when was the last time you tried Aleph One?

Argh, I already deleted the rest of your post from this box thingie because I didn't intend to respond to it, but now I want to. 3D models running around 2.5D maps may indeed look a little wierd. However, high-res textures subtract a bit from the wierdness, and if we use Ultra-High-Res textures (512x512), then that will make it look even less wierd.
