On a related note - apologies if this was already covered and I missed it in the walls of text - what about the terminals from the MI demo? Poor Yorick and Acme Station have some differences from retail but tell more or less the same stories, yet the demo's Ne Cede Malis has some terminals that are completely different and even more cryptic than the retail version.

Of particular note, whoever is addressing the player there has green text and uses the Thothandal/Jjaro emblem and plural pronouns: "the secrets of this station have evaded us", "as you already know, we were too late", etc. Sounds familiar, does it not?

This wasn't the first time we saw terminals change between demos and final products, and Double Aught evidently shared Bungie's habit of continuing to tweak the plot right down to the finish line. While the demo is of course not canon, it perhaps offers a sliver of insight into the creators' intent.

What is a biblical candy machine, anyway?
