This is the first terminal where I have to decide "to park" or "not to park". Before I do I ignore the logon graphic, the colour of the text and terminal graphic. Now I ask myself what was the creator's intent? Does it move the story on?

In this case it most certainly does. It may be cryptic but it describes a line (timeline) of infinite ends but only one is the right one. And you are now about to find yourself starting a new one to find it.

So now it does not matter to me if the terminal is messed up, does not fit my concept of story continuity, too clever for my limited intellect, etc.

I understand the intent. I can move on... happy with what I have gained from it.
