That's an engine issue that I wasn't aware of, and probably pretty much unfixable without horrendous breakage of compatability.

Which was, I believe, my point. The design of the map would make for horribly un-fun CTF games if the requisite elements were present. It could be improved greatly (although it would be very hard to capture on) by mirroring across the pool; duplicate the lower area and make each of those into a base, but as it stands in the Infinity data files it would be abysmal for CTF.
If I had a Mac handy, I'd be highly tempted to make a CTF adaptation of the basic Duality template, having thought about it. The mirroring and a little toning-down of the weapons, and you'd have the basis of a potentially very fun CTF map. Naturally, tweaking and playtesting would be necessary to get it up to high standards, but that's true of any map.
