Yes it makes sense, BUT youre forgetting 343 GS's quote. The galaxy will be devoid of life capable of sustaining the Flood, or devoid of life with sufficient biomass and cognitive ability to sustain the Flood. So right there its pretty much saying that it doesnt just wipe out all life in the Galaxy. Thats why I think that it does not destroy stars...or just make things blow up, because that would be destroying everything...not to mention a really weak story line by bungie.
