Good counter-play makes for better gameplay for the people. It gives more tactics for the player and their opponents. Skilled players will find ways to exploit the opposing players' weaknesses and players can exploit theirs. I just love seeing the look on their faces when you know you have the upper hand against that annoying sniper or Mantis gunning you down.
