In Response To: Actually, a lot of weapons look the same (TDSpiral) : Like the Plasma Pistol, Essentially identical throughout the original trilogy. Small but noticeable changes to its profile in Reach. : Plasma Rifle Same here. : Battle Rifle (except H4) True for the transition from H2 to H3. However, the H4 BR would have to be the same model as the H3 BR, as it's present on the Dawn in the first level, yet it's been heavily remodeled. : SMG True again. : DMR The H4 DMR has a different buttstock, a different little loop thing in front of the grip, a different barrel, and a different scope. Of course, since H4 takes place several years after Halo 3 and the H4 DMR is likely a Navy instead of Army weapon, it's probably not the M392. : Spartan Laser Slight but noticeable changes to its profile, plus a little monitor is added to the left side in Reach. : Gravity Hammer The profile is almost identical, but there are some noticeable changes. The head has a different design despite retaining the same basic shape, and the handguard from Halo 3 was removed in Reach. : Brute Shot True. : magnum (they're different models, of course) Mostly true. The M6D, M6C, Halo 3's version of the M6G, and the M6C/SOCOM all have nearly the same basic profile and details, ignoring various attachments (scopes & silencers) and finishes (chrome or black). Oddly, the Reach pistol has some small but noticeable changes in its profile and details despite it being the same model as in Halo 3. : Needler Profile changes noticeably fro H1 to H2. Stays consistent from H2 to H3. Changes even more noticeably from H3 to Reach. : from Halo and so on and so forth. The rocket launcher changed noticeably in Reach despite being the same model throughout the series (it was mostly consistent throughout the main trilogy). Except for the addition of the little ridges in H2, which carried over to the H3 version, the M90 shotgun was largely consistent. The Reach shotgun was a different model, thus explaining the different profile from the other versions. The fuel rod gun changed noticeably from H1 to H2, stayed consistent from H2 to H3, and changed noticeably yet again from H3 to Reach. The H3 and Reach Spikers are nearly indistinguishable, as are the H2 and H3 Carbines. The sniper rifle looked different every game; the H1 and H2 sniper rifles were the same model, but the others had the excuse of being different models. So really, it's all over the place. Some weapon designs carried over from one game to the next, while others changed quite frequently despite some of them being classified as the same weapon. Same thing applies to certain vehicles, most of which are supposed to be the same model. Also, unless it gets a proper explanation, the Chief's armor in Halo 4 would be a massive change for change's sake, as it would have to be the exact same suit of Mark VI if he was in cryo the whole time from the end of H3 to the beginning of H4.
