And I'm fine with new models of vehicles in Halo 4 - enough time has passed, the war is over, new technology is at their fingertips to study... Yeah, I mean I personally have a lot of issues with the art direction - especially coming from a perspective of "preservation" of the original. But thinking objectively - its canonicity is a troubling issue - we've never had the problem of two games covering the same event. Canon problems were mostly an issue between the 'tiers': games, books, comics, etc. Now Anniversary and CE are on the same tier. They also both have two big strengths. Anniversary is the latest entry, which seems important to some, while CE is the original, and was actually created by Halo's creators. To me, time means nothing, and the fact that the original author had nothing to do with a re-envisioning like it, Anniversary shouldn't be the primary source, instead a secodary "what if?". Put it down at the bottom in the screenshots section of a wiki article, not in the top, main content, if that makes sense. ... But on the other side, with Anniversary being fresh in people's minds, 343 may reference back to Anniversary designs, and CE's versions may start to disappear from the wikis... I'll be very sad if that happens, just because it's like they're erasing my youth.
