Perhaps a result of skimming. I read the article quickly, and now, going back to read it again, it's really quite odd and jarring having that one paragraph there. It makes me go back and check again all the other suggestions, wondering if I understood the author's position on those as well. Are all the suggestions in that paragraph sarcastic? Does that mean that all the suggestions are? Or that some of them are? Maybe some paragraphs are sarcastic and others aren't? Do they alternate? The problem is that no matter what kind of silly idea that I think has to be suggested sarcastically, there's always someone, somewhere, who would make that suggestion seriously.
