It was lengthened by 5 frames after the beta, to the same length as Halo 3's. And in Halo 3, there were some weapons where a double melee was more effective and others where a melee and firing was more effective, or vice versa. If you watch, it's not exactly like the other guy was shooting him up all that much as he did it.
