In Response To: G4 reach Preview (Minime637) Some of these Firefight maps are pretty big and open. Since they're taken straight from Campaign, that says a lot of good things about Reach's Campaign level design. Oh, and I'm starting to get really impressed with what I've seen of the AI. Something I noticed in the Firefight video is that the vehicle damage system is (or at least appears to be) the same as in the beta (contrary to statements that they went back to the Halo 3 system), albeit with some tweaks such as the already confirmed beefing up (increased HP) of the vehicles as well as no "GTA-style" delayed explosion. The player driving the Ghost had nearly full shields and two thirds of his health, yet a single shot blew him up. Finally, the shotgun frakkin' owns. That guy in MP match blew the player away in two shots from at least 8-10 meters away. At that range, it would've taken the shotgun at least twice that many shots to kill in Halo 3. Can't say its range is as good as the Halo 1 shotgun until I can test it under controlled conditions, but it's definitely got improved range over its Halo 3 counterpart.
