In Response To: My (and your) feature requests for Reach (FyreWulff) All around pretty solid. Personally, I'd like to be able to combine gametypes. Example, combining territories and CTF. Maybe set it up so that you get 10 points every 10 seconds for each territory held, but flag caps are worth 100 points; flags have to be capped at a territory your team holds. . Other games have some variation of this gametype (which might work well for Reach where it might not have worked for Halo 3):
Another variation might be having a single, 15 minute round, with a team of attackers and a team of defenders. Attackers have to control zones and proceed as normal, working to the last control zone held by the defense. Defense has the option to go out and take 3-5 control zones held by the offense, but taking each zone just reduces the amount of time left in the game. For example, if there were 3 zones and taking each zone reduced the time by 3 minutes, then if the defenders took all three then the attackers would only have 6 minutes to get to that last control zone. For added complexity (as if this hypothetical gametype needed any more of that), perhaps vehicles and weapons could also be tied to the control of certain zones, in addition to spawn points; So attackers might take Zone A and get a gauss 'hog. Perhaps, in addition to territories as spawn zones, there could be bombs (like assault) where the goal for those controlling zones is to detonate the bomb, instead of merely standing there for 30 seconds. . In regards to map layouts, it would be nice if objects could be set to never respawn, but not have them despawn if you 'bump' into them; You how when you get near a crate in Halo 3 and it bumps off the ground? That's enough to make things despawn sometimes, and that's not cool. In fact, it would be great if that 'bump' was fixed entirely. One last potential option for objects is to make them never despawn, so debris from fusion cores and road blocks would always persist.
