Some weapons could do without... | |

In Response To: "Sticky aim" needs to be optional in Reach. (Gravemind) : "Sticky aim/crosshair magnetism" (or whatever you want to call it), : the gameplay feature that causes your targeting reticle to : "gravitate" towards a target near it, has been an annoyance of : mine for years, especially in the multiplayer arena. There's few things : more annoying than having the game try to force my targeting reticle : towards one target when I'm trying to aim at another target. For example, : I'll be trying to aim at one enemy only for another enemy to walk in : front, causing the game to try to force the crosshair onto that guy : instead of the guy I'm trying to kill. Similarly, if I'm trying to aim at : a fusion coil next to someone in order to blow them up with it, I don't : want the damn game trying to force my aim over to the guy. These : occurences happen with stunning regularity, and I get kind of sick of it : after a while. As with any other part of my movement, I want complete : control over my aim, and I don't want the game causing my crosshair to : pull towards something I'm not trying to aim at. : While magnetism/sticky aim might be useful for a lot of people, I don't much
I haven't come across it very often when driving, but when sniping it regularly pisses me off. (I'm working off single-player and LAN matches, so I'd probably need it if lag was involved) I'd love to have the option, but also to be able to choose what weapons it applies to. That would be on the same level as customising your controller layout. Not cheating, but tweaking the settings to optimise your play/enjoyment. For me, I'd try no assist on the sniper. I've been playing with assist on for so long that it would be impossible to accurately imagine a game without it.
