In Response To: "Sticky aim" needs to be optional in Reach. (Gravemind)

: "Sticky aim/crosshair magnetism" (or whatever you want to call it),
: the gameplay feature that causes your targeting reticle to
: "gravitate" towards a target near it, has been an annoyance of
: mine for years, especially in the multiplayer arena. There's few things
: more annoying than having the game try to force my targeting reticle
: towards one target when I'm trying to aim at another target. For example,
: I'll be trying to aim at one enemy only for another enemy to walk in
: front, causing the game to try to force the crosshair onto that guy
: instead of the guy I'm trying to kill. Similarly, if I'm trying to aim at
: a fusion coil next to someone in order to blow them up with it, I don't
: want the damn game trying to force my aim over to the guy. These
: occurences happen with stunning regularity, and I get kind of sick of it
: after a while. As with any other part of my movement, I want complete
: control over my aim, and I don't want the game causing my crosshair to
: pull towards something I'm not trying to aim at.

: While magnetism/sticky aim might be useful for a lot of people, I don't much
: care for it and find it far more annoying than anything. For me, this is
: something where the game's help is neither wanted nor needed. I really
: hope I have the option to disable it in Reach.

I dislike auto aim for the same reasons you do. I really don't need any help to placing my targeting reticule on an enemy and firing away.
