If he : can keep close enough to concentrate fire but far apart enough to avoid : area effect weapons, then the less-experienced player could benefit from : the more-experienced player's choices of routes and tactics. The lead : doesn't have to worry so much about where the follower is, because as you : say, it's the follower's responsibility to keep up. The follower doesn't : have to worry so much about tactics, as he just follows the leader's lead. Right... like I alluded to, in a certain way this is the purpose, or at least one of the strengths of this type of system. It provides a cookie-cutter sort of organization model, allowing you to synergistically increase the effectiveness of the unit, with minimal (although not zero) commitment of practice and training. It goes without saying that two great players who know each other intimately (no homo, as the kids say) will be an effective force; but we can't always be so fortunate. So the very first step if you're trying to produce this sort of thing would be these low-level, low-skill and low-risk type of strategies, such as "you stay ten feet to my lift at all times." High payoff? No, but better than nothing, and it shouldn't cause any problems, so you can build from there. You don't start with a Multivalent Counter-Envelopment Dynamic "Flying V" Formation because that's just going to return a bunch of zeroes.
