In Response To: Re: Narc's "Halo 3 Partnership" article (sharpsniper99) : This isnt a personal attack on you Narc - but you have to keep in mind doing : well against level 13's is not the same as constantly doing well against : 50's - the strategy changes a lot as you go up the ranks and while you : have experiance playing against lower levels ide be willing to bet theres : a lot you havent seen. I don't believe the original article mentioned any specific range of levels, or indeed even advanced the idea that the goal of applying this technique was to increase one's level. I saw it more as an intellectual question of whether or not the wingman concept could be extended to infantry, and what the results might be (positive or otherwise). If some choose to say that since the author isn't a 50 and one is usually playing against 50s and there is no particular interest in something that doesn't improve one's results against other 50s, that's fine-- this article is clearly not written with those goals in mind, I'd say. What I objected to was the elitism of the original comment, which amounted to "level 13-- that explains a few things" which breaks down to "this article is stupid, and of course it's stupid because the player who wrote it isn't any good at Halo". Some or all of those things might even individually be true, it doesn't make the original statement any less elitist and obnoxious, if you ask me. : you mentioned you like to tag along with another player - this is actually a
Perfectly logical-- although it would seem to support the original article's assertion that communication is useful. (Not something I asserted as I didn't write it and my voice comm quality is crap anyway-- in big team games it's garbled). :
