I beg to differ. In my opinion, the image on the right looks much cooler than the new one. The one on the left looks too much like the armor did in Halo 2. The lack of dimples can be explained through the statement that the armor will receive damage over time. In FoR, Dr. Halsey states that "The armor's shell is a multilayer alloy of remarkable strength. We recently added a refractive coating to disperse incoming energy weapon attacks" (FoR p.114). Over time, this refractive coating might wear off, leaving just the multilayer alloy. I don't like the look of the smoother armor, color or texture. It's lacking the awesome color/surface texture of the Halo 3 armor we've seen, and the slick look of the refractive coating from Halo 1.
