In Response To: Re: Halo Wars Q and A interview (AfroRyan) : No offense to Bungie or anything, but I'm not even sure if they could keep it
: What I'm trying to say is, the canon is already disputed internally regarding
: Don't get me wrong though, I hope that it goes peachy...I'm just concerned,
See I'm one of the people who thinks that both explanations fit together. All other mention of active spartan ones indicate that they are old as well but still extremely active. I know ILB is constantly under canon debate but the story of Jim James, Gladys and Gilly tends to mesh with the timeline of that event. Given they all became Spartan One's in 2492 and they all volunteered. Given ILB is also set in 2552 and two of those people are still alive I'm inclined to beleive that spartan one's are, like their younger counterparts, damn near unstoppable. Hell, Boren syndrome is supposed to be fatal and yet the sarge didn't take his meds or die. I interpret this as Sarge thinking it couldn't kill him because of his history and given his personality we know he is a cocky bastard as well. Either way, Ghosts of Onyx might explain much more and also might leave us guessing much more. Either way it should be a fascinating read. |
