In Response To: Maxwell equation use inferior in the Covenant? (Exiled Zealot) : I remember this from Halo: First Strike when Cortana was analyzing covenant
: Now, with all due respect, how the f*** can that be possible?! This is an
: My guess? The Covenant took the forerunners technology and employed it
: It just seems impractical and unlikely that their engineers have not derived
: I don't agree with that last sentence. The engineers must know all this stuff. They can repair just about anything in the novels, and they're so godamn brilliant that they probably do every calculation in their head without ever resorting to symbolism(There are some people who can do an infinite sum in their head-they're autistic otherwise, but their mathematical capabilities are inhuman). Sine the engineers are so innately good at copying such unbelievably high technology, it must follow that they have superhuman calculation abilities and thought processes. They could innovate, perhaps, but they're autistic. They follow orders from the prophets, do their job with superhuman efficiency and in return for peanuts. The rest of the covs are blinded by relgion. Their mindset is too fixed to think out of the box. That's why their grasp of the Maxwell equations is so bad. They just don't bother to learn it-the engineers do everything, why go down to their level? | |
