In Response To: A simple solution to a complex problem (CYBRFRK) I like pretty much the whole package, excepting one small quibble I have with your third point..... : 3. Create a peer-review process. Take 10 or 15 volunteers to recieve an email : when the content is submitted. They now have the "special : access" to download the content, review it, RATE IT, and leave : comments. I'd say, were this to be implemented (your plan as a whole, or even just the peer-review part) it would be necessary to have more than one group of people to review. Part of the problem is the massive amount of time involved in watching each video that's submitted, because, like Wu said, there's hundreds. Even a group of fifty people can only review one movie as fast as a single person alone. Try as we might, there are only 24 hours in a day. Instead, think of the peer review like a parallel processing computer. Instead of having one group of size X review all the submissions, have N groups of size X/N divide up the submissions and review them like that. It would take more coordination to pull it off, I'll grant you that, but I think the payoff is worth it. If nothing else, you can have multiple submission places that have upload quotas (with their combined maximum about equal to the current submission rate). Assign a group to each section, and voila! Instead parallel-processing peer reviewers. Of course, I don't know the first thing about programming or about establishing upload quotas or anything of the sort.....but I think the concept is sound, and it might stimulate further brainstorming.
