In Response To: Re: not that anyone responded to my first post, bu (HK HUNTRKILLR) : Which flattop knuckles do you use on that? Ford? Dynatrac? Terraflex? Other??
DynaTrac, comes already installed on the ProRock 60's for us. They custom build that axle for us. Ball jointed steering gear, it still needs to be civil on the road;). We replace the stock pitman arm with the beefiest thing possible and the steering arm is 1 1/4" thick, I think. Also, about 1/3 of our 4x4's get ARB lockers. Mainly just in the front, but of all the vans that get the ARB setup, almost half get front and rear. We also use the Atlas II, twin-stick, all gear-driven transfer case. : Wow. Very cool.
That wasn't the test run, it's a snippet from one of our yearly rallies. I wasn't on that trip, but it IS in Moab. We host a yearly rally in different places in the west(loaded with trails and open areas of course), a few have been in Moab. The VAST majority of the Sportsmobiles on these rallys are Quigley conversions. They have nowhere near the amount of articulation, overall travel, or duty rating(component wise) as our conversion. The trails are kept mild for that reason and that there are roughly 80 vans that go every year! That gets to be one big wagon train! : I never knew the name of the trail so I'll just name it Blood Gulch Traverse.
: Of course. I just wanted to show the spring, not the axle in that pic.
Totally, and that's been my point all along: There are SO many easier ways this can be done, building a 'Hog. That new Jeep Hurricane is probably as close as we'll see, technologically speaking, from any of the big three. |
