Agreed. I should've explained that what I pictured was a pivot or fulcrum on the arm near the skidplate to provide torsional and lateral strength and rigidity. A reversed/inverted quarter elliptical spring would attach at the inner (above skidplating) end of the arm. REmember the old-style lever shock absorbers?
