Actually, I believe your suspension idea is wrong. | |

In Response To: Analysis of the Warthog *long with images* (Speedy) Feel free to call me out about this, or someone can come up with proof. I heard/read somewhere that the warthog uses "Mag-lev" suspension, or "Magnetic Levitation." This makes sense, too. Each pod contains an electric motor, and there are four arms in total extending from a central point under the warthog. Each "pod" above it has a very strong magnet, and the undercarriage has a strong magnet as well. They repel eachother, creating a completely indestructible suspension system that, depending on the strength of the magnets (and if they're electromagnets, their strength can be changed thus creating a variable suspension system [hey Master Chief! We want a smoother ride!]). The magnets, are of course, both positive or both negative charges so they oppose each-other. Heck, if they're electromagnets as I mentioned, they could be switched to positive_negative for shipping, thus compacting the warthog and making it quote immobile. Your propulsion idea is great (except the need for brakes - why not just reduce current? The warthog doesn't stop on a dime.) |
