($erial-ki!!A) What is this realism obsession, I mean come on if you want a game to be real life your seriously screwed up, when adding realism to a game you need to be very careful, otherwise you end up with some lame ass simulation where you just walk everywhere, its like in animation, if any of you know what rotoscoping is than you probably know that in general roto is not nearly as lively as free drawn animation despite the fact that it is "more real". Realism != a good game, if you make something entirely real it becomes nothing but life and if we liked our lives that much than how come we play games to escape them ? and what is this BS about knowing nothing, would you really like me to talk to you about this ? Ok lets assume that a modern mini-gun is comparable to the one seen in Halo, the reason why the usage of them is not common has to do with the fact that most cartridges don't hold enough for high rate of fire to last long, drum systems are more prone to jams. Now I'd like to point out that the reason for using a rotating mini gun system is so that the gun doesn't over heat with either high rate of fire or overly large shells. I don't know where you getting this inacuraccy stuff unless you are talking about the French mitrailleuse wich was a multiple barrel gun that fired from each of its 25 barrels without rotation. Even the old water cooled Maxim gun weighed in at a mere 100 pounds in later models, so why do you assume that a mini-gun couldn't be light. and what the hell, I don't know what I'm talking, about I simply said that you need to assume there will be advances in weaponry beyond what we have now. -Cunbelin | |
