In Response To: Pop (Jillybean) : Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm not so sure. : Except that you disarm the barrier as the Arbiter, therefore allowing you,
Jilly, I'm going to be nice, and ask you to actually read my argument. One of the principle things that I'm fighting here is that the Flood you encounter first off are not from IAC. They are there within a matter of moments after you unlock the barrier. Even if they were from In Amber Clad, that would mean the Marines would have had to, in the time between the Arbiter unlocking the barrier and him crossing the span (which is about a minute): -Get across the outer wall
If those Marines were from In Amber Clad then they would have had to do all that in ONE minute. Now, I love humans, I think we're amazing, but I don't think we're quite that fast. Now, the Flood you run into later can certainly be IAC's troops, but what of the first few dozen that you meet? There's no logical stretch of the imagination that can say those were IAC's troops unless you speculate that they had gotten inside somehow other than lowering the barrier. Since we know of no other way to get through the barrier and the shield was never lowered (that we know of) then this is probably the best conclusion I can reach. Not to mention there's still no reasonable explanation as to why the Marines would bring boxes of boots and crates of stoves with them. :P |
