If so, why do Marines not carry boots into combat? No Marine carries extra boots in his alice-pack. The only pair of boots a Marine carries into combat are on his feet. No Marine wastes space and weight better used on ammunition, grenades, food, medical gear, etc. on a pair of stupid boots. The only extra footwear a Marine wears in a hostile environment is socks. : heater can also be used to boil water or melt snow to make it safe for : drinking. warm water would also be needed to treat and clean some wounds. : portable stoves are ment to be carryed with you. you may have never been a : boyscott but we can carry every thing we need to surive for a week on our : back and then trek a 5 miles uphill. You may have never been a Marine, but Marines carry only the essentials. Weapon, ammo, food, knife, grenades, etc. Only what they need to survive in combat. Not even hot plates. The Marines don't need hot plates. And in case you're wondering, this is direct from an actual Marine I'm talking to about this. : the flood don't have the neatest landings. What relevance does that have? : no no no. the marines enter when the arbitor first turns it off. think of : these marines as waiting right nice to the edge of the shield down below : the arbitor and they go in the moment he turns it off and some fools get : them selves immedatliy kill. (remember after he turns it off he rides in : the plateform a little bit. across a long drop. thats when everyone else : is coming in,. Okay, so, these Marines are apparantly infused with supernatural powers of the Flash, explaining how they got there so freaking fast as to get snatched by the Flood before the Arbiter's flying pltform crossed that span so quickly. And these Flood are Super Flood who infect and turn you into combat forms within seconds. All the while being completely unaffected by the Sentinels that would be flying around trying to kill them. Then, they ninja their way back to the Arbiter just in time to ruin his day. Because without this set of coincidences, that argument makes no sense whatsoever.
