In Response To: Re: End of the Evaluation (Wado SG) First off I want to say thanks for being one of the most reasonable posters in the thread and actually giving you post some good content. However, you've dug yourself in deep because this is getting a long reply ;P : Why did I see this coming. Actually, Nick, remember that the Count is one of
See what coming? I've got no problems with Count Zero, I know he's a great guy and helps with the site. I just replied to his question and asked it back. It was nothing personal. : Funny thing about this is that, for example, just prior to the announcement
That was a bit before my time but I could see why he was flamed, Bungie being so pro-Mac and all. However, I don't think this is "insider information", probably just somebody at Havok putting a bit too much info into a company overview and sending it off to an investor. : Anyway, you aren't being a prick, Nick, but there's no sense in talking about
Well thanks for not calling me a prick like somebody else in this thread. I'm not looking for credit, I just thought it was really cool because Half-Life 2's physics kick ass and I think Bungie can take it to another level. I don't want people to say I'm right, give me a cookie, or anything like that. I just wanted to share the info and then ended up defending why it was possible that Bungie was using it, so much for the basics :P. Once again I don't see where the insider information is coming from but I agree if there were insider information, this isn't the place for it (unless it's from Bungie). : Many system architectures are moving to third-party middleware for many
They may in fact have bough the code and are using it internally. I noticed two other Microsoft games use Havok, Brute Force and Freelancer. Could be that or maybe they've just grown to like Havok and keep out sourcing to them. However, the point you bring up is an interesting one, maybe there is no news about it on the Havok site because Bungie doesn't need to acquire the license since Microsoft owns a multi-license or unlimited license. : In other words, say no more about this. Only time will tell. There is no
Well, I would say that I am not going to reply any more but I just can't make myself do it and I'll tell you why. If I were to say "Ok, no more replies for me, I'll drop it." somebody would come along and say something I felt overwhelmingly compelled to reply to. At that point I'd make a reply and somebody would go back, see what I wrote, then make a post pointing out I said I would no longer reply. If this were to happen, I would look like a dumbass, like KOPD did. I'll try to keep my replies to a minimum but I do enjoy talking about game development and I also like to reply to everybody that replies to me. The way I look at it, if you took the time to give me a response, I should take the time to give you a good one back. : Cheers Thanks for the reply. -Nick |
