In Response To: Re: End of the Evaluation (Nick) : Yes, I have. Have you? : -Nick Why did I see this coming. Actually, Nick, remember that the Count is one of the most level-headed, no-nonsense guys to post here. Funny thing about this is that, for example, just prior to the announcement of Microsoft purchasing Bungie, some guy went on the forum to say that Microsoft was going to purchase Bungie and he got flamed and called a liar, etc. The point here is that the guy had insider information and really was being a prick to argue that something was going to happen when it hadn't officially been announced. Anyway, you aren't being a prick, Nick, but there's no sense in talking about middleware and Havoc any further than speculation, if it is being used, there will be plenty of credit later and you can then come back and say you were right. In the mean time, anything in the grounds of insider information should not be discussed, we are dealing with stockholders and legal and ethical issues. Many system architectures are moving to third-party middleware for many business applications. A physics engine middleware makes sense, but only if it is in the architectural model. Microsoft is a large enough company that if they use a third-party, they are very likely looking at acquisition of that third-party company or at least buying the source code and then creating an internal product out of it. In other words, say no more about this. Only time will tell. There is no sense in verifying anything without an official press release. These are business matters, not game development cycles. Understood? Cheers
