Ah. Well any changes to the calculations would be fairly easy. Just change a few numbers in the equations.

And I didn't even think of the way escape velocity would be different since the Halo doesn't have true gravity. I'm not sure about this, but once you get above the atmospher, I don't think you'd feel any more effects of the artifical gravity. Centrifugal force only effects things tethered to the object(s) that is spinning. If you were to be stopped in the void between the ring, you'd only be affected by the ring's natural gravity. And of course, that would be pretty miniscule.

More than likely, the escape pods weren't drawn into crashing on the Halo. They were aimed there so they'd have at least some chance of survival.
