Lots of people have come around trying to get the rights to make a Halo movie, but Bungie has not sold the movie rights to anyone. (And yes, it IS Bungie's decision.) There are lots of bad movies based on video games, and we don't want Halo to meet the same fate.

There is also an answer to a question somewhere in Letters to the Webmaster about how Bungie trying to break into other media is something of a no-win situation.
