Re: Yes, Yes, YES! : ) (shorter)

In Response To: Re: Yes, Yes, YES! : ) (long again) (Shishka)

: Well, the thing that makes me curious, is that a LOT of the plot is
: "interacted with." Specifically the warfare. In terms of your
: movie, I'm looking forward to seeing how you're going to make it
: interesting, since you don't have the devtools Bungie has, and can't
: simply "leap out into third person."

Well...maybe you can, if you know how....trade secrets my son. ; )

: And another thing... Master Chief has what... 10 lines, in the entire game?

That's a hard part....no question....everyone (in the game) needs more dialog, the trick is to put enough of it together in the right spots so it flows, and the long breaks in between aren't missed becasue of what else you see and hear.

: I'm curious to see what you're going to do to develop him. However, if this is just a repeat of the game in "non-interactive" form, just for the fans, I guess that won't be an issue.

True. True. Like I said, for mine I'm limited....

:For a wider audience, more would have to be done, don't you think? You don't really get a :sense of MC's sense of duty in the game, or his ignominy for having to leave his :comrades behind. Really, when you think about it, The Fall of Reach adds entirely new :dimension to Master Chief's character, none of which is really "readily apparent" in the :game itself.

Well.....that goes without saying. : )

: Again, I'm looking forward to the final cut. ;)

Me too. ; )

: Hehe, I like that line. Good show. ;)

Thanks, Louis remembered the poem and the poet better than I...it's on another posting.....

: You suggest that in making a motion picture of Halo, Bungie would have
: nothing to lose. I suggest the same for if they didn't. ;)

Well...more like, whatever they might loose, I'm sure they will find it again.

: Yes, but you were PLAYING those hours, as opposed to watching someone else
: play (hopefully). There's the rub, if you ask me. ;)

More like "walking" for those hours. : ) If you have a script with words and dialog, and other things that make movies interesting and fun to watch, it shouldn't be a problem. Becasue there is no script available, that's why I think you are worried. You see all the gaps because you only have the gameplay to work with. See for me , that gaps have already been filled, because I know how it will look and sound and feel. In my head. The hard part is putting those images to film. : )

:If anyone in the community can pull this off, I believe it to be you. :)

Thank you, that's very kind. Now... go tell Marty, and Matt, and Alex, and Dave, and Jason and.....(voice trailing off)

: Daikatana was dead from the get-go. But that's Romero's fault.

Yes, Romero's fault. But no one stopped him either. he he

: I guess what the point of that was... Sometimes you can expect quality by
: knowing the source. If Bungie's developing it, you expect a quality game.
: If M. Night Shyamalan(sp?) is directing it, you expect a good movie. If it
: was made by Craftsmen, you expect a good screwdriver, etc, etc, etc. ;)

Hummm screwdrivers.....oh , I'm sorry I thought you ment the drink! Silly me.

: Again, I want to point out that this is not a reference to your movie. That
: was specifically directed at the idea of a full motion picture.

Well hopefully I would love one, to lead to the other. : )

: 'k, I'll e-mail him, ask him if he has the time to let us know what exactly
: Bungie's stance IS on the idea of a Halo motion picture.

Tell him I said "Hi". And the check is in the mail. ; )

: *nods* There are industry greats, certainly. But would it be a crew of these
: greats that would make this movie, or would the crew "fall
: short?" Neither of us can say, really. ;)

I trust'um.

: Well then, I'll continue to argue with you until opening night. ;)

I like to think of it more as a debate. ; )
