Well the flood and the covies would have to be CGI. Final fantasy has shown that CGI can look very realistic, almost to the point where you cant tell.
I think that if they kept to the story line of halo and keep all the cool little things that make us love halo soo much, but were able to make a good plot and in depth characters and a good conflict that will work in a movie, it would be cool. But to make all of that work is almost impossible.
Just to clarify, bungie has been approached by numerous movie studios who want to make a halo movie but bungie has turned them down. Hopefully they turned them down because their ideas sucked, but its more likely that they dont want to make a movie becuase the likely hood of the movie sucking is so high.
