In Response To: Re: The trend of pre-order exclusives.. (Metalingus627) : It's not like it's going to be impossible to purchase a game after a set
I believe the quoted statements fall well within the acceptable exceptions I mentioned. Cody was pushing the 'buy used' scenario as a side comment to the OP. At least, that was my impression. I am of the opinion, someone who is an existing fan of a game, should see that it is in their best interest to acquire new versions of that game at retail prices and in a timely fashion. It's kind of the least thing you could do to support the industry and community of fellow fans of that game. I doubt we would ever see repeat games of the calibre of Halo if large numbers of gamers were all of the 'wait until it is a used game' mentality. There is nothing wrong with buying a used game. If you like that game to the point of being a fan, you should step it up and plan to get the next one new. Again, all reasonable circumstances excepted. I am in no way intending to attack people who just don't have the means to acquire the games they desire. I have a son who goes through used games by the dozen. He buys them used, plays them out and then they just lay around. He could care less if a company ever made a better version of that game from the retail revenues. I do not consider him to be a fan of any of those games.
