In Response To: Re: MLG no longer having Halo at live events (sithhead) : There's a matchmaking hopper or several solely for their maps and gametypes. : Attention enough IMO. If a game is fun for me, I'll play it. Whether or : not the pros find it competitive enough means nothing to me. : Halo isn't dead because of this, 343 doesn't need to show them who's boss, or
: IMO, IMO, etc. Yes. There's plenty of sub-divisions of Halo fandom out there - and I don't think one is more important than others. There's been Sangheili fans who have slowly lost interest in Halo because they, one, couldn't play as the Arbiter in Halo 3, and two, couldn't play full-time as an Elite in Reach. We can lament changes in a series' focus as individual fans who love different aspects of the games, but I don't think we should demand the designers to cater to our needs. Halo should evolve and try new things. If it doesn't, and tries to fit some lowest common denominator with every iteration, I believe it would grow stale and assuredly fail. (The last paragraph would sound better if spoken with a Ben Franklin impression.)
